October Chinese Video

Ok everyone! Here is my first ever video! Please let me know if you have any technical difficulties viewing it. Also, I have to apologize for the camera quality of my laptop and the lighting. I may use my cell phone next time instead.


To make this video, I didn't look up new words or write a script or anything. I kind of thought about what I wanted to say while I was getting ready this morning and then it just came out, using what I've learned.


What I'm talking about:

This month I've been learning about shopping vocabulary, so that is what I talked about in the video!

I discussed how I don't like shopping that much because clothes are expensive and it's hard to find clothes my size. I also talked a little bit about grocery shopping and how our friends are coming over soon. (Well, hopefully that's what I talked about!) Then I accidentally use a French accent at the end 😕 See below for full transcript! (I haven't yet figured out how to add captions to my video. I might be able to do this if I use my phone?)

Hello Everyone

I am Lauren

I am studying Chinese

This month, I am studying shopping things

So today I am going to talk a little bit about shopping

I don’t like shopping too much

I think it’s because I don’t have a lot of money

New clothes are expensive

Also, I am very small, it’s hard to find clothes my size

My favorite store is Ann Taylor, but we don’t have Ann Taylor here

My boyfriend thinks I need to buy new clothes

My clothes are very old

I don’t go buy things… I don’t often go to buy things

Also, I don’t really like to go to the supermarket to buy food

But if I want to make… food… I want to go to the supermarket and buy things

I need to work hard at studying Chinese, there are still 2 more months to study Chinese

I need to study hard

Now it’s very hard to talk

I don’t often practice speaking, but I often practice listening

I think that’s it, we have friends… the friends will arrive here in a few seconds

I need to go now
